Senior Python Engineer, Growth
A Senior Python Engineer, Growth, is a key player in the development and optimization of backend systems that drive growth for AI-powered products and services. This role requires expertise in Python and backend development, with a focus on data-driven growth initiatives, including optimizing product performance, user acquisition, and customer engagement through innovative backend solutions. You will collaborate with data scientists, growth marketers, and product teams to create scalable and efficient systems that support the company’s growth objectives.
Tasks:
- Develop scalable backend systems: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Python to support growth initiatives such as product experimentation, user acquisition, and customer retention.
- Collaborate with growth teams: Work closely with marketing, product, and data science teams to understand business requirements and deliver backend solutions that drive growth and improve user engagement.
- Build growth tools and platforms: Develop internal tools and platforms for A/B testing, user segmentation, data analytics, and other growth-related activities.
- Optimize for performance and scalability: Ensure that backend systems are scalable, efficient, and optimized for high-volume traffic and data processing.
- Automate data pipelines: Create and maintain automated data pipelines to support data-driven decision-making, monitoring key performance metrics, and improving product performance.
- Integrate with third-party services: Build and maintain integrations with external systems, APIs, and services that contribute to growth, such as marketing automation platforms or user analytics tools.
- Implement tracking and analytics systems: Work with growth and analytics teams to implement robust tracking systems that provide insights into user behavior, conversion rates, and other key metrics.
- Support experimentation: Help run experiments and contribute to testing new ideas, including new features, user flows, and user acquisition strategies.
- Ensure system reliability: Continuously monitor backend systems for performance, reliability, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Mentor junior engineers: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring code quality and helping to build a collaborative and productive engineering culture.
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Python and building scalable systems. Experience with growth-oriented projects is a plus.
- Technical skills: Expertise in Python and modern frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) for building web services and APIs.
- Database knowledge: Proficient in working with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Data-driven mindset: Strong experience working with data, creating data pipelines, and implementing systems for tracking and analyzing user behavior and performance metrics.
- Scalability and performance: Ability to design and implement backend systems that scale with growing user bases and handle high volumes of data and traffic.
- API integration: Experience with third-party API integrations, including marketing and analytics platforms.
- Version control: Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
- Collaborative skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (growth, marketing, product, data science).
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to break down complex problems and create efficient, scalable, and robust solutions.
- Agile experience: Experience working in an Agile environment and participating in iterative development processes.
- Testing and monitoring: Experience with backend testing frameworks and monitoring tools to ensure the reliability and performance of systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Growth hacking experience: Familiarity with growth hacking strategies and how backend systems can support rapid experimentation and scaling.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, as well as containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Real-time data processing: Experience with real-time data processing tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ is a plus.
- Machine learning integration: Familiarity with integrating machine learning models into backend systems to drive personalized user experiences and growth strategies.
- CI/CD expertise: Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines for seamless and efficient code delivery.
- Performance tuning: Knowledge of performance tuning for both databases and backend services to support high-traffic environments.
