The Director of Marketing Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategies, processes, and tools that support the execution of marketing initiatives. This position plays a key role in optimizing the marketing team's performance by ensuring efficient workflows, data-driven decision-making, and seamless integration of marketing technologies. The Director of Marketing Operations will collaborate closely with marketing leaders, product teams, and other departments to drive operational excellence and deliver impactful marketing campaigns.

Tasks:

  • Develop and optimize marketing operations strategies: Lead the development and execution of marketing operations strategies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the marketing department.
  • Technology and tool management: Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of marketing technologies, including CRM systems, marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and data management systems.
  • Process optimization: Continuously assess and improve marketing workflows, systems, and processes to drive operational efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity across teams.
  • Data and analytics management: Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of marketing data, providing insights to optimize campaign performance, customer engagement, and lead conversion.
  • Budget management: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and manage the marketing operations budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively across marketing initiatives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments (sales, product, finance) to align marketing operations with business objectives and ensure seamless coordination across teams.
  • Campaign execution support: Ensure that marketing campaigns are executed smoothly, from planning through to reporting and post-campaign analysis.
  • Lead marketing performance reporting: Develop and oversee the generation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and marketing performance reports, ensuring stakeholders are informed of marketing results and insights.
  • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing operations team, providing guidance on best practices, career development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Compliance and data privacy: Ensure that marketing practices comply with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and that data management practices adhere to legal standards.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation, new technologies, and innovative approaches to marketing operations that will drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Vendor management: Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring they meet performance expectations and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in marketing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and driving marketing efficiency.
  • Education: A degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in marketing operations or analytics are a plus.
  • Technical expertise: Strong experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Google Analytics) and CRM systems.
  • Process management: Deep understanding of process design, automation, and optimization, with proven ability to implement best practices across marketing functions.
  • Data-driven mindset: Experience with data analysis, reporting, and deriving actionable insights to guide marketing decisions. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.
  • Leadership skills: Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team, fostering a collaborative work environment, and driving team performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management: Proven ability to manage complex marketing operations projects, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle operational challenges and implement scalable solutions.
  • Marketing strategy understanding: A solid understanding of marketing strategies and tactics, with experience in campaign execution, lead generation, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Budgeting skills: Experience with budget planning and financial management, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and aligned with marketing goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SaaS or technology sector: Knowledge of marketing operations in SaaS or technology companies is highly desirable.
